
GROUP EXERCISE CLASSES
AFRO-CUBAN DANCE
Dance to the rhythm of live drums! Develop core strength, upper body endurance and lower
body power while enjoying a multi-cultural tradition.
ARTHRITIS FOUNDATION EXERCISE
Land exercise class designed specifically for people with arthritis (who can walk
independently) to help keep joints flexible, maintain muscular strength and build overall stamina.
CARDIO BOXING
An aerobic workout using the skills of cardiovascular training and drills of kick boxing.
High enery and strength gains by solid muscle work.
CHI-GONG
Body/mind exercises that have been used in China for 1,000s of years to strengthen,
heal and energize the body. Suitable for all physical abilities.
FELDENKRAIS
Slow, easy, focused movements designed to increase body awareness, ease of movement and
restore natural flexibility and harmony of action. Please wear layers or bring a blanket.
May be done seated or lying down.
FITBALL MADNESS
Use of large stability balls to aid in deep conditioning of spinal core muscles and increase
stability of the body by challenging postural balance. Weights used for upper body strength
as well. Have a ball of fun while receiving a complete muscular-skeletal workout.
GENTLE STRENGTH/STRETCH
Basic weight training to promote strength, endurance, and range of motion. Class designed
for individuals new or limited in their activity level.
HIP HOP DANCE
This class is a great opportunity to get a cardio work out with a fun, funky dance style.
It's easy to learn and is appropriate for all levels. Class designed for ages 12 and up.
JAZZ DANCE
Choreographed dance routines for the intermediate to advanced participant.
Experience in dance is helpful.
MUSCLE STEPPIN' MADNESS
A complete conditioning class for muscle strength and endurance. Includes 10-40 minutes of
low-impact aerobics, moves into toning with weights and exertubes, and finishes with an
overall stretch and cool-down.
PILATES (mat)
This class is based on the work of Joseph Pilates. Mat work is a combination of highly
specialized strength moves to empower and elongate muscles in creating balance and
correction in movement and posture. Emphasis is on core muscle groups.
STAY FIT FOREVER
This class is designed to encourage fitness for a lifetime. For anyone desiring a less
strenuous aerobic workout, this class offers cardio-vascular exercise incorporating
choreographed low-impact aerobics plus muscle toning and stretching.
STEP
Step is a program using an adjustable platform. Stepping up and down between the platform
and the floor combines the benefit of good cardiovascular exercise and strengthening of
leg muscles. Includes muscle work, abdominals and stretch.
TAI-CHI FOR ARTHRITIS
Pool and "Land" classes designed to work in conjunction with one another to
improve flexibility, enhance strenght, release physical and mental tension.
WALK THE TALK
There is no doubt about the benefits of walking. Maybe you have been saying you need
to start walking more. Well, now is the time to Walk the Talk. Join an instructor-led
group for a walk outdoors. Optimize the use of pedometers to keep track of your progress.
Bring layered clothing.
Y'S WAY TO FITNESS
This is a national YMCA adult physical fitness program in calisthenic style. First half of
class concentrates on joint mobility, strengthening, toning and flexibility. The second
half of the class is a progressive jogging/walking program suited equally for beginning
to advanced participants.
Y CYCLING
An indoor cycling class for those who enjoy bringing the outdoor cycling experience indoors. A self-regulated, groupcharged workout with great music and state-of-the-art spinning equipment! Class designed to improve cardiovascular endurance and cycling stamina. Bring water and a towel.
YOGA
This class utilizes breathing as a dynamic relaxation technique. It can reduce muscle tension,
increase range of motion, promote circulation, and help prevent injuries.
ACTIVE YOGA
A dynamic Vinyasa yoga utilizing strength and flexibility by linking poses together with
breath to create strong muscles, balance, and flexibility.
GENTLE YOGA
Learn yoga in a calming and meditative class. Reduce muscle tension, increase strength,
increase range of motion, increase balance and flexibility. This class is great for beginners!
KID'S YOGA
An easily learned Yoga that includes laughter, movement, relaxation, meditation and play. Ages, 5-7.
